The Mercedes-AMG GT sedan, scheduled to step out into the light by the end of 2018 and revolutionize the hyper-saloon segment, has been spotted while running through snow and cold, covered up in a thick layer of camouflage.

The black and white camo hides the silhouette of the performance sedan, first 4-door vehicle built in Affalterbach. The car will be powered by a series of brand-new performance-oriented powertrains with plug-in hybrid technology, launched under the EQ brand and capable of producing up to 850 HP and of running in a full electric mode for approximately 50 kilometers.

The figures will position the sedan right next to the already familiar Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and help it account for the title of the most powerful saloon out there by the time of its arrival. At the time of its launch though, the model will be propelled by the company’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, boasting the 4-wheel drive and the 9-speed automatic transmission.

Sporting wider tracks than the company’s most powerful sedan, the E63 AMG, yet sitting lower than the performance E, what we have been calling AMG GT4 will feature a plunging roofline that gives it a coupe-like allure.

Rumors have it that the 4-door Mercedes-AMG GT will see the light of day sooner than expected, being scheduled for the 2018 Geneva Motor Show this upcoming March. It would go on sale in the summer of the next year and the plug-in hybrid models will show up in 2019.
